About MOMI

Founded in 2018, the Museum of Makers + Innovators (MOMI) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advocating for the Power of Play in development of critical life skills for our youngest learners.

MOMI aspires to build the premier family destination in New Jersey as a world-class hands-on museum for children and their families that inspires curiosity, fosters wonder, and ignites the lifelong love of learning through interactive experiences that connect nature, imagination, maker-based, and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) learning.

MISSION

Building a world-class hands-on museum for children and their families that inspires curiosity, fosters wonder, and ignites the lifelong love of learning.

VISION

To be a global catalyst for playful learning, empowering individuals of all ages to become the curious creators and future problem-solvers the world needs.

Our Accomplishments

Established 501(c)(3) in 2018; ACM Emerging Museums member since 2019.

Conducted 24 FREE STEAM community events over three counties (Morris, Somerset and Passaic).

Built a strong community of volunteers across Northern New Jersey.

Raised over $200,000 first five years of operations (2019-2023).

Created the MOMI Thinkscape Park, NJ's first certified Playful Learning Landscape at Morris Marketplace in Morris County.

Created robust partnerships with both private & nonprofit organizations including Bridgewater Commons, Bridgewater Jewish Community Center, among many others.

Met with numerous elected officials and staff at the local, county, state & federal level.

Building a new state-of-the-art children's museum takes time and a lot of resources. We cannot do this alone so we have recruited talented and passionate advisors to help guide us through the process and help us better advocate for MOMI to bring our vision to life.
