Building a Museum for New Jersey's Future Innovators
The Museum of Makers + Innovators:
A Place for Children to Explore and Create in New Jersey
The Museum of Makers + Innovators - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization - has one AWESOME mission: to create a future children's museum in New Jersey that specializes in S.T.E.A.M. and maker-based learning!
Did you know that New Jersey currently does not have a dedicated children's museum? With your support, MOMI can be the premier destination in the Garden State for playful, hands-on experiences for the entire family.
Big Dreams. Big Plans.
The Museum of Makers + Innovator was founded in response to the need for more equitable and inclusive learning opportunities for children and their families that spark curiosity and wonder, and ignites the lifelong love of learning.
Our plan is to create a place for innovative, experiential learning that connects creativity with science and nature. We plan to build a museum of the future with indoor and outdoor exhibits that will inspire the next generation to dream big and think even bigger.
Building a new, world-class, brick and mortar museum will take planning and perseverance. We have begun the journey, but we need support from the entire community to move forward with our vision. We encourage anyone interested in supporting the museum to get involved or donate to our cause.
NOW OPEN AT MORRIS MARKETPLACE!
MOMI Thinkscape Park
Serving communities across Morris, Somerset, Union and Essex county, the MOMI Thinkscape opened Spring 2024 and integrates playful learning into the design of a pocket park at Morris Marketplace in Morris Township. It offers a unique approach to urban planning by incorporating child-friendly design and learning through play.
The pocket park is designed for multigenerational learning and to create a community gathering space that builds connections and inspires learning in a new innovative way.
What Does S.T.E.A.M. Mean, Anyway?
Explores the natural world through observation and experimentation.
Applies scientific knowledge to create practical inventions.
Designs and builds structures, machines, and systems.
Expresses ideas and emotions through creative mediums.
Uses logic and numbers to solve problems and understand relationships.
MOMI believes S.T.E.A.M. is more valuable than S.T.E.M for childhood learning because it incorporates the arts, which helps to foster creativity and innovation in addition to the technical skills gained through science, technology, engineering, and math.
